" It's okay, Answer me with Silence."

Have you ever been frustrated with your prayers? It feels like sometimes a satellite intercepts them on the way up to God and bounces them off to the oblivion? That's me, and exactly describes how I have been feeling the past few months.

Joy Williams has a song entitled, " Silence". It is a great song that really hits the head of the nail as to how I have been feeling lately. You can look up the lyrics, and listen to the song yourself, and I do recommend it. Some of the lyrics go:

"Are You listening
To anything that I say?
'Cause I been praying,
How many prayers can I pray?
I'm still waiting
Maybe You'll show up today.

I know You're here, but I can't feel You.
And if You're speaking, I can't hear You.
How much longer will this last?

So okay Answer me with silence,
It's okay if You don't say a word.
You're testing me to trust You'll be faithful in this quiet
So okay
Answer me
With silence."

Pretty powerful huh? Every time I begin to get frustrated with my unanswered Prayers this song seems to find me. Amazing how I can be frustrated with not getting a answer, yet this song pops up almost being my answer.
I know that God always answers in His own way, whether I see or hear it. He almost has a sense of humor about things. You pray for one thing, like pain to be taken away from loved ones. The pain goes away for them, but because He took them away with Him. Not that that is a laughing matter, but He adds His own twist to everything.

It amazes me how people give up on God just because they have the feeling of unanswered silence. Just like a child who wants a cookie before dinner, and the mother says to wait until after dinner. The child throws a fit because he/she wants the cookie right then and there, they way he/she wants. That's how we seem to be about prayers. We don't want to wait until after dinner to get the answer we want, the way we want. But God, like the child's mother, knows whats best for us only having the best intentions whether we see it or not.
(So I guess this first blog post is mostly for me just reasoning with myself)
God is always there, and He has the best way to answer me about all of my situations. He has the best timing in it all, and the best people put in your life to help you through it. Although I feel like I am going to break down and want to crawl in a closet and cry my eyes out for the unknown, I need to back up and realize that I may not get the answer I am looking for. I also may not get a answer at all but realize years from now that He did answer me now in this time of need. That He is and always will be here for me.

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:6-7).

"Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus" (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18).
